Two Orange County Court elections canceled days before qualifying period began

Attorneys Chelsea Simmons (left) and Joy Goodyear both had their 2026 Orange County Court elections canceled last week after Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed their opponents to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court, creating vacancies on the county court that he can now fill with his own appointees. Goodyear is now running in Group 17.
